ADAPTIVE LESSONS

At Opus Conservatory, we believe every child deserves the chance to experience the joy of music. Our Adaptive Lessons are designed for students of all ages with learning differences, disabilities, or medical conditions who want to sing or play an instrument. These lessons are taught by our board-certified music therapists, ensuring individualized instruction that meets each student’s unique strengths and challenges.

We adapt instruments, the learning environment, teaching methods, and sensory elements so every student can thrive. Adaptations may include adjusting the pace of instruction, modifying expectations, incorporating breaks, and using strategies tailored to each learner’s needs. Instruction is available in voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, hand percussion, music theory, composition, and improvisation—all adjusted to support success and enjoyment.

Beyond musical growth, Adaptive Lessons also nurture essential skills such as attention, memory, perception, cognitive flexibility, and emotional expression. Because our music therapists are trained to work with a wide range of disabilities and health needs, they know how to personalize each lesson to match every student’s learning style and abilities—creating a truly positive and rewarding musical experience.
